what do we believe?
We at the upper room believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the hope of the world.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that God has made Himself known through His Son Jesus Christ.
The Gospel message tells us of a loving God, the God of creation, who loves all of mankind, so much so that He sent His only Son - Jesus Christ - to come amongst us here on earth.
Jesus spoke of His Fathers love, but His words of love and forgiveness were rejected. Jesus was killed by those who opposed him, but in doing so God's rescue plan for mankind was fulfilled.
Jesus was sinless, his death paid the price for all the sins of the world, past, present, and future, and he opened up a way for every individual to know God personally. Only through Him can we come to the Father (John 14:6).
We believe that it is only through knowing Jesus that we can begin to experience God's amazing love and forgiveness and enter into a new and living relationship with Him.
Christianity is a relationship Not a religion.
We also believe in the active work of the Holy Spirit in our lives and the world, as described in the Bible.
Living out this life of Christ We don't just talk the talk, but we walk the walk. As a church that supports mission we at the upper room are committed to making the message of the Gospel known to all those who we come into contact with.
We believe that each Christian is commanded to live out the lifestyle of knowing Jesus where ever they have been placed. We are called to witness for Jesus amongst our work places, families, friends and communities.
This is not always easy and we seek to support and pray for each other in this calling.
During our regular Sunday services we seek to preach Christ and explain the Gospel week be week. We regularly put on special events to introduce friends and family to the church and more importantly to Jesus.
We are committed to reaching the local community of Middleton, which God has places us in, and seek to do this through community action and social involvement as well as proclamation preaching.
If you have questions and want to understand what it means to be a Christian or you want to know the person of Jesus Christ, we run regular Alpha Courses designed to help these very things.
we are all on a journey - where is your life heading?
